If you have an evaporator coil, you will know that it can be quite a difficult job to remove it if you do not have the right tools. The coil is simply held in place by a hydraulic system that has been in place for many years. As you begin to clean this device, you will notice that there are various pieces that need to be loosened up to begin with. The best way to get the job done is to get a piece of wire and connect the various pieces to the wires so that you can have each one of them pulled out separately.
Once you have completed this task then you will need to strip off the insulation on each of the individual wires. There are some wire that will simply need to be stripped off because they are made of copper and not the copper wire that you are used to seeing. Do not try to pull the whole wire out by hand because it will just be an accident waiting to happen. You need to be able to use some sort of wire stripper to strip away the insulation from each wire and it can come in handy in doing this.
Once you have completed the wire stripping you will be left with just the copper wiring. Take care when you put your newly cleaned coil back together as you do not want to run into any problems later on. This is because there is a metal track that goes along the length of the coil and if you tighten it up too much it will ruin the coil and may cause you to have to replace it. Start with the coil and work your way down until you get to the main body of the coil. Once you have gotten this part of the coil taken care of then you can move on to the metal track that goes behind the coil.
