An evaporator coil drain line is a very important part of your furnace. This is also called a heating line because the hot air rises to the top of the furnace where it gets heated and then escapes through the evaporator coil. This is where the air is heated and then becomes a liquid or vapor. If there is no air coming through it, you will not be able to get the liquid from it to be a vapor. There are two drain lines, one for the uppermost area in the coil and the other is for the lower area.
Now the way you will need to replace the drain lines is by first locating them. This can be done either by locating it on the back side of the furnace or on the side near the top of the furnace. You will need to hook up the drain line to the line which will help drain out any unwanted gas that may be present in the hot air. You will need to identify this type of line first. Usually this line is located along the bottom of the furnace and can be found at the bottom of the furnace. The other type of line is located at the top of the furnace and is found on the top of the furnace and you will be able to notice it if you look at the top of the furnace. The third type of line is located at the bottom of the furnace and is located in between the tubes, which are located in the furnace.
With the type of line you need to hook up, you will need to make sure the lines are attached properly and that it has an adequate amount of water flow to them. If there is a large amount of water flowing through the lines, it can cause problems so you will need to make sure that the drain line has enough water flow. Next you will need to have someone come out to unplug the lines and then you will need to drain out the water using a garden hose that is rated for using outdoors. Remember the evaporator coil drain line will help in the process of getting rid of any unwanted gas from your furnace, so you will need to drain it out properly.
